We’ll begin our day with lunch at Barbara Jeans. Lunch choices are as follows: 5oz. Crab Cake (house specialty), Meatloaf, Pot Roast, 10 Shrimp, Catfish, Chicken Breast, Pork Chops, plus choice of two sides and choice of three fabulous desserts. No need to choose in advance.
Then off to Amelia Island’s Fernandina Beach. Recently named one of the top 12 vacation destinations by the National Historic Preservation, it is a community that cherishes and preserves it’s past, bringing to mind a more graceful bygone era.
Today we will also tour the area by boat on a river cruise. This one-hour cruise will give the history of Amelia Island, highlighting its shrimping industry, Port of Fernandina, Olde Towne and Ft. Clinch. We will also view the south end of Cumberland Island which is the largest wilderness island in the United States today. We’ll hear the history of the island and view wildlife which could include dolphin, birdlife and wild horses.
