June 24- Today we begin our journey to beautiful Coastal New England. As we make our way north we overnight in the Fayetteville, NC area. Dinner is on our own this evening.
June 25- Breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. We continue our journey making our way to southern New Jersey where we make our overnight in the Mount Laurel area. Dinner is on your own. (Many options within a short drive from hotel including the Moorestown Mall)
June 26-Breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. Today we enter southern New England making our first stop at the Old Mystic Village where you will have free time for lunch and shopping on your own. You will meet your local guide who will spend the next five days with the group. Following lunch you will visit the Mystic Seaport Museum. What is Mystic Seaport? Ask three people and chances are you’ll get three very different answers. To some, it’s a fun family destination offering hands-on activities and special events. To others, it’s a world-renowned maritime museum featuring exhibit halls and historical interpreters. And to still others, it’s an incredibly valuable education and research center. In fact, it’s all three – located within 19 charming acres on the banks of Connecticut’s legendary Mystic River. A quintessential New England experience, Mystic Seaport offers visitors of all ages a unique link to our seafaring past and endless, year-round opportunities to immerse themselves in new worlds of hands-on history. Following our visit we continue to New England’s smallest state, Rhode Island. We check into our hotel for the next two evenings. Tonight we travel to a popular local restaurant where we will enjoy a delicious dinner featuring local fare. (B,D)
June 27- After breakfast, we board the coach with our local guide for a day of touring. Wind along Newport’s famous Ocean Drive, lined with 19th-century mansions that once served as summer getaways for the New York elite. During this guided tour, learn the history of this Rhode Island treasure and stop along the way to snap photos of the jaw-dropping properties. Stroll along Cliff Walk, gaze at the summer cottages of Bellevue. Following our drive we tour one of the popular mansions. Enjoy some free time for lunch and shopping along the harbor and historic Thames Street. We can enjoy another mansion tour this afternoon or a visit to the Newport Vineyards for a guided tour and tasting. Another wonderful dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. (B,D)
June 28- Following breakfast, we say good-bye to Rhode Island and journey to Boston where we meet our local guide for a tour of the city including the Boston Common, the State House, Cheer’s Pub, the Old State House and much more. Enjoy free time for lunch and shopping on your own at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. This afternoon we continue our journey to coastal Maine but before leaving we do a stop in historic Salem, MA. Here we will have time to visit the Salem Visitor Center National Historic Site and enjoy a guided tour of the Salem Witch Museum. We continue to York, ME where we stay for the next two evenings. Dinner is included this evening at their waterside restaurant. (B,D)
June 29- After breakfast, we board the coach for Maine’s largest city, Portland. Here we meet a local guide who will take us on tour of the city including the Eastern and Western Promenades, Longfellow House, the Portland Headlight and historic Waterfront. We continue to Freeport (Home of LL Bean) where you will have free time for lunch and shopping on your own. This afternoon we enjoy a drive back towards York making a pass through Kennebunkport (Home of George H.W and Barbara Bush) and a stop at the Nubble Lighthouse before returning to the hotel. A delicious Maine Lobster Dinner is included this evening overlooking the water. (B, Lobster Dinner)
June 30- Following breakfast, we board the coach and begin our journey back to Florida. This evening we overnight in downtown Baltimore within walking distance to the Inner Harbor. You will have free time to explore the Inner Harbor this afternoon and enjoy dinner on your own. Be sure to have a delicious Maryland Crab Cake during your visit. (B)
July 1- Breakfast is included this morning. We continue our journey today and make our way to Florence, SC where we make our overnight. Dinner is on your own this evening. (B)
July 2- Following breakfast, board the coach for a little touring before traveling home. Departing around 10:00 AM for Orlando and arriving in the early evening. (B)
