Mon., Sept. 25: Begin the journey to scenic New England with rest stops and lunch & dinner on your own along the way. Travel to North Carolina for the night.
Tues., Sept. 26: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for Hershey, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, visit Chocolate World USA for a simulated tour of the factory, then continue on to a local hotel for the night. Lunch & dinner on your own. (B)
Weds., Sept. 27: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then continue on to Vermont. Travel through the Catskill Mountains of New York with a stop for lunch on your own. Arrive in Vermont mid-afternoon and stop at the Bennington Monument, Vermont’s highest building. Take an elevator to the top floor and see outstanding views of Vermont and New York. Continue to Ludlow, Vermont and spend the next two nights. Meet your New England guide and enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel. (B,D)
Thurs., Sept. 28: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then spend the day touring the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. Visit the Cold Hollow Cider Mill and learn about their delicious apple cider and sample their fine apple products. Then travel to the village of Stowe and enjoy free time for lunch on your own and shopping. In the afternoon visit the Cabot Cheese Annex for a little sampling and finish the day with a tour of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory. Enjoy a delicious dinner at The Castle. (B,D)
Fri., Sept. 29: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and travel to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Along the way, stop at the Vermont Country Store in Rockingham. Then travel to the Cannon Mountain Tram and take a scenic journey to the 4200’ summit. Enjoy lunch on your own at the summit. Later that afternoon, check into a Lincoln, New Hampshire hotel for two nights. In the evening experience the Café Lafayette Dinner Train and a spectacular four course dinner during a two hour journey through the White Mountains. (B, D)
Sat., Sept. 30: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then spend the day touring the White Mountains. Travel to Lake Winnipesaukee and board the M/S Mount Washington for a scenic cruise on New Hampshire’s largest lake. Disembark in the village of Wolfeboro (known as America’s first summer resort) and enjoy lunch on your own and shopping. Then visit the Castle in the Clouds, a 16-room mansion and 5,500-acre mountaintop estate in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. Finish the day with a scenic driving tour across the Kancamagus Highway, known as one of the Top 50 Scenic Drives in North America. Enjoy dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant. (B,D)
Sun., Oct. 1: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for coastal New England. Travel to historic Plymouth, Massachusetts, visit the Plymouth Rock, see the Mayflower II (depending on restoration schedule) and enjoy lunch on your own and shopping.
