Begin the day in Ona, Florida at Solomon’s Castle. View the home and galleries of internationally known artist and sculptor, Howard Solomon. Take a guided tour and enjoy Solomon’s tongue-in-cheek sense of humor and puns. Have lunch at The Boat in the Moat Restaurant. Lunch choices are as follows: blue ribbon chili; homemade chicken pot pie; taco salad; chef salad; tuna salad on a bed of greens; ham and cheese sub; or turkey and bacon sub. Sub comes with chips and a side of fruit, potato salad or homemade baked beans. Meal includes coffee or tea and small dessert. Please make lunch selection at time of reservation.
Then, off to Myakka City, Florida to see the Lipizzan Stallions. Founded in the 16th century for the exclusive use of the Hapsburg Royal family of Austria, the Royal Lipizzans, with only a few hundred ever existing at any one time, are unquestionably the rarest, most aristocratic breed of horses in the world. Known for their All Airs Above the Ground, originally created as defensive horsemanship for war, these magnificent creatures thrill with their spectacular leaps and plunges. See these fabulous flying horses practice for their upcoming season and watch as they perform rare and beautiful moves as highlighted in the Disney movie, Miracle of the White Stallions.
